Information Stored On Your Device

Camping AI Buddy stores app data locally in the app sandbox so the app can work offline and remember your settings.

Camping prep data

The app stores your selected trip duration, checked or adjusted preparation quantities, hidden recommended items, and user-created custom prep items. This data is used locally to remember your camping preparation progress.

Local AI model files

If you download or import a local AI model, the model file is stored in the app's local application support directory. The app stores local model status, the active model choice, download progress, and installed file path information on device.

Camping guide and local search data

The app includes an offline camping guide built from public outdoor, safety, and campcraft materials. The guide, local document chunks, source metadata, and local search indexes are stored on your device and used to pick relevant source chunks before the local model answers.

App preferences

The app stores small local preferences, such as onboarding completion, installed guide state, model state, E4B unlock state, and local rating prompt counters.

Information Sent Off Device

Camping AI Buddy does not send your questions, AI prompts, AI answers, prep checklist, custom prep items, or local guide searches to a developer-operated server.

Local model downloads

When you choose to download a local AI model, your device connects to the model hosting provider, currently Hugging Face-hosted URLs, to download the model file. That download request may include standard network information such as IP address, device network headers, and request timing. Those requests are handled by the model hosting provider according to its own terms and privacy practices.

In-app purchases

Camping AI Buddy E4B purchases and restores are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We do not receive your full payment card information. Apple may provide purchase status information to the app so it can unlock the E4B local model option.

Support email

If you tap Contact Us, the app opens your email app with our support address. If you send the email, we receive your email address and any information you choose to include. We use support email to respond to your request, troubleshoot issues, and improve the app.

External source links

The Offline guide can show source references. If you choose to open a source link, the app opens that URL in an external browser or app. The destination website or app may process your request according to its own privacy practices.

App rating prompt

Camping AI Buddy may request Apple's native app rating prompt. The prompt is controlled by Apple. Camping AI Buddy stores only a local counter to decide when to ask.

Permissions and File Access

Camping AI Buddy may ask you to select a local model file if you choose model import instead of model download. The app processes selected model files locally on device.

Some picker libraries included in the app can reference photo library, camera, or photo metadata APIs. Camping AI Buddy uses those permissions only if you choose a picker source that requires them. The app does not collect or send your location, does not use the microphone, and does not access your contacts.

Third-Party Services

The current app uses:

• Apple App Store and StoreKit for in-app purchases and purchase restoration.
• Apple's native app review prompt.
• The device email app when you choose to contact support.
• Hugging Face-hosted URLs when you choose to download local AI model files.
• External browsers or apps when you choose to open a source reference link.

Camping AI Buddy does not include advertising SDKs or analytics SDKs.

Data Selling and Tracking

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not use Camping AI Buddy data for third-party advertising.

We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

Data Retention and Deletion

Most Camping AI Buddy data is stored locally on your device. You can remove local data by deleting the app from your device. Some features also provide local controls, such as removing an installed local model.

If you contacted us by email, you may ask us to delete support correspondence by emailing development@itworks.in.ua. We may keep limited records when needed for legal, security, or operational reasons.

Children

Camping AI Buddy is not directed to children under 13. The current Camping AI Buddy app does not use family profiles or child counts.

Safety Notice

Camping AI Buddy is an outdoor preparation and camping reference tool. It is not emergency services, medical care, legal advice, official public-land guidance, weather alerts, fire restriction enforcement, or a substitute for ranger, campground, local authority, or emergency instructions. AI answers can be wrong or incomplete. Verify critical medical, safety, legal, weather, fire, and emergency guidance with official local sources or emergency services when available.

International Use

If you use Camping AI Buddy outside your country of residence, your support email, model download request, or external source-link request may be processed in countries with different data protection laws. Local app data remains on your device unless you choose to send it elsewhere.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when Camping AI Buddy changes. The updated policy will show a new effective date. If a future version adds cloud accounts, analytics, crash reporting, cloud sync, document upload, server-side AI, location collection, camera features, or photo-library features, this policy and the App Store privacy answers should be updated before that version is released.
