Privacy Policy
Bearnest is a calm habit timer for keeping small promises. This policy explains what information the app stores locally, what information may be processed by service providers, and the choices available to you.
Who We Are
This Privacy Policy applies to Bearnest, published by IT Works in UA ("we", "us", or "our"). Bearnest is a self-management and wellness app. It is not medical treatment, therapy, diagnosis, or a smoking cessation program.
Information You Create In The App
Bearnest lets you create and save information such as:
- Your first name or nickname, if you enter one.
- Suggested or custom promise goals.
- Timer sessions, including durations, start and end times, completed sessions, stopped sessions, breaks, and urges logged.
- Reward progress and reward gallery entries.
- App preferences, such as language and sound settings.
This information is stored on your device using local app storage. We do not require you to create an account, and Bearnest does not upload your custom goal names, session history, reward gallery, or first name to a Bearnest account or server.
Information Collected Automatically
Bearnest uses Firebase services to understand app reliability and basic usage. These services may process technical information such as:
- App version, device type, operating system, language, and basic device diagnostics.
- App interactions and screen navigation events used for analytics.
- Crash reports, stack traces, logs, and diagnostic identifiers used to investigate errors.
- Approximate region or country inferred from technical data, where provided by Firebase.
We use Firebase Analytics for usage measurement and Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting. These services are provided by Google. You can read more at Firebase Privacy and Security and in Google's Privacy Policy.
Notifications, Sharing, And Email
- Notifications: Bearnest can schedule local timer notifications if you allow notifications on your device. Notification permission can be changed in your device settings.
- Sharing: If you choose to share a reward, Bearnest opens your device's share sheet. The app or service you choose to share with will handle the shared content under its own privacy practices.
- Email support: If you tap Contact us, Bearnest opens your email app with our support address. Your email provider handles that message under its own privacy practices.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Run core app features such as timers, goals, rewards, preferences, and local reminders.
- Restore active sessions and show your progress on your device.
- Understand aggregate app usage and improve the product.
- Find, diagnose, and fix crashes and bugs.
- Respond to support requests that you send to us.
How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use advertising SDKs in Bearnest. We may share or allow processing of information in these limited cases:
- With Google Firebase for analytics and crash reporting.
- With platform providers such as Apple or Google as needed to distribute, operate, and secure the app.
- With apps or services you choose, such as email or sharing apps.
- If required to comply with law, protect rights, investigate abuse, or respond to legal requests.
Data Retention And Deletion
Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, clear the app data, or uninstall Bearnest. Firebase analytics and crash data are retained according to Google's Firebase retention settings and policies. If you contact us for support, we retain your message for as long as needed to respond and maintain support records.
To remove local Bearnest data, uninstall the app or clear the app's data from your device settings. You can also contact us at development@itworks.in.ua for privacy questions or requests.
Your Choices
- You can choose what goals and session details to enter.
- You can disable notifications in your device settings.
- You can choose not to share reward content.
- You can delete local app data by clearing app data or uninstalling the app.
- You can contact us with privacy requests or questions.
Children
Bearnest is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
International Processing
Service providers such as Google Firebase may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Those providers handle information according to their own security, privacy, and data transfer commitments.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No app, device, or network can be guaranteed to be fully secure, so please use a secure device passcode and keep your operating system up to date.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Bearnest changes or when legal, platform, or operational requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page shows when this policy was last updated.
